Herb Marshall, Mexico, (formerly Northern Ireland)

Herb Marshall, in Puerta Vallerta, Mexico - with son, Tim, and Mexican friendsHerb Marshall used to run a very successful restaurant business here in Northern Ireland, until his struggle with homosexual temptation became public knowledge.

He lost his marriage, his business and came close to ending his own life - due to the extreme pressure of gossip, judgement and lies about him - mainly from those evangelical Christians who'd previously been his customers and friends. He survived, though, and learned through his experience how to forgive and to minister to others in need. I interviewed him while on a visit home, recently.

Darrel Stott, a revived itinerant pastor from Seattle, Washington, USA

"Your interview with the man who ministers in Indonesia was fascinating" - USA

Darrel Stott, Seattle, USADisillusioned with not seeing biblical results, Darrel Stott was about to resign after 27 years in ministry in Seattle, WA. He was no longer enjoying his ministry and, before resigning to go into sales, accepted an offer from his dad to visit Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship as a last resort.

What happened to him there transformed his ministry and that of his fellow pastors and, eventually, led him into ministry in 20 different countries, including in the world's largest Muslim country, Indonesia - which, despite difficulties, is experiencing revival in recent years.

Abuna Elias Chacour, Melkite Archbishop of Galilee, at Mar Elias College, Ibillin

"To me it seems so unusual that a Palestinian would be a priest in Israel. Really incredible. Especially in light of all he has been through." - New York, USA

Abuna Elias Chacour, Ibillin, GalileeAbuna Elias Chacour was the first Palestinian priest to be appointed in Galilee - 19 years after the State of Israel came into being. The Israeli military had deliberately destroyed his family's home village of Biram, in northern Galilee, forcing his father and brothers into exile, and he had every reason to be a bitter opponent of Israel.

Instead he has become a major force for peace and reconciliation, building the only college in Israel today where Muslims, Druze, Christians and Jews both learn and teach together. He has written three books (Blood Brothers; We Belong to the Land and Faith Beyond Despair: Building Hope in the Holy Land) and has spoken in many nations around the world.

In February 2006 he was appointed as the Archbishop of Galilee (ie. all of Israel) in the Melkite Catholic Church, the largest Christian denomination in Israel. I spoke to him in his office at Mar Elias College, in the Arab town of Ibillin, Galilee.

Mariamma Thampy, Kerala, reaching a nation for Christ.

"enjoyed [the] story ... an admirable mission" - New York, USA

Mariamma Thampy, Kerala, IndiaRaymond interviews Mariamma Thampy who, with her husband, Thampy, founded New India Church of God nearly 40 years ago. They currently have well over 1,500 churches in 22 states of India.

They focus on equipping indigenous leaders from the different states of India, training them (in English) in their Training Centre in Goa, them sending them on to one of their 15 other training schools, where they continue to learn in their own language.

Every week seven mobile teams (equipped with a jeep/mini-bus, generator, projector, the 'Jesus' film and PA equipment), bring the gospel to a new unreached village - planting a new church every day or two among the 400,000 unreached villages of India!

All four of their children and their partners are also involved in running orphanages and schools, feeding street children and men, and planting churches in the mega-cities of Calcutta and Mumbai (with 60 million people in each). "really interesting" - Boston, MA, USA

Eddie and Lura Beckford, Arad, IsraelRaymond interviews Eddie and Lura Beckford, originally from New York, USA, and now living and ministering in the Negev, Israel.

Like many Messianic believers in Israel, they have experienced intense persecution there - especially as their 'King's Men' Chess Club is the only visible sign of Messianic/Christian faith in Arad. They continuously have to fight frivolous lawsuits, brought against them by the ultra-Orthodox 'Yad l'Achim' organisation, and are currently under house arrest in Arad.

"fascinated to hear that lady tell her stories about supernatural visitations of Jesus" - USA

"Ms. Bredlow ... Her information about miracles was great. She is a fine speaker and she is so down to earth and direct it makes her really good at telling her testimony" - Missouri, USA

Irene Bredlow, Galilee, IsraelRaymond McCullough interviews a Canadian lady, Irene Bredlow, who has lived in Israel for more than 30 years.

She has spent that time praying – and prayer-walking – for supernatural encounters in the lives of Jewish and Moslem residents in the Holy Land. Her prayers are simple, but with amazing results - some of which she relates in this interview.
